What Type of Summerhouse Do We Supply
Once that you have decided to look at summer houses for your garden, you need to sit down and think about exactly what you will be using it for. Some of them are only big enough for a couple of chairs and a table and cost about £500, 8 x 6 for example while you can go all the way up to buildings that cost around £3,500 with our Premium range and at those sort of prices, you can clearly see that our summer houses offer exceptional value for money.
Some people will use this summer house just for the summer, however, others like to use them all year round.
So if you decide on the latter then you will need to install some kind of lining and insulation plus a heating unit all of which will add cost.
Value Range Summer Houses
This image shows the basic value range Summerhouse after the client has painted it using Cuprinol Shades ( we offer this optional extra painting service POA ) . This Summer House also shows the optional Veranda
There are a number of styles available, with the most basic version being the budget models. These usually have one single door, and windows that resemble those in a shed. They have a canopy hanging over the front to keep the worst of the weather away. These are often used by people who do not want lots of room, but just enough to allow them to relax in the garden area.
Deluxe Summer Houses UK
The next model up is the deluxe range. These come with double doors, usually in a Georgian era style, along with a number of windows to match. These models look a lot more traditional with Georgian windows and a wider selection of designs and sizes
These are good for hobbyists and are often used by people who are interested in art. The summer house gives them somewhere to relax away from the main home, and paint or sculpt.
Premium Summer Houses
The final range available are the premium Summerhouses, which are available in an even wider selection of finishes including models where the timbers interlock rather than being nailed on to the framework.
This range is generally more expensive and limited in design
Interlocking Summer Houses
These are the most expensive and are made of heavy solid wood usually 44 mm thick. Interlocking usually means that a number of units can be joined together, and some people do this so that it looks like a log cabin style summerhouse.
Lined Insulated Summer houses
As these are fully insulated, lined with a selection of finishes, and weatherproof, they can often be used for people to live in given a large enough building. Once again you are only limited by your imagination and your budget.
The wood for all of these models comes from sustainable sources and is treated to ensure it lasts a long time. Some will be pre-stained, but you can purchase them without it, and do it in whatever color you want.
Garden Summer Houses
It is always best to use wood staining than paint, as it does not flake off when weathered.
So if you are looking at summer houses, you now know that there are many styles, price ranges, and things they can be used for. Before deciding on one, always make sure that it is suitable for exactly what you want it for, and if you do get one, enjoy it.
Custom Made Summer Houses
We can offer you a full Custom Made Summerhouse that can be made to your specific Design and size to suit your budget.
The size of the summerhouse you have your heart set on is now day determined by local planning regulations which state that if you intend to site your new summerhouse with 2m of any boundary on your property it can only be a maximum of 2.5m (8ft) before you need to apply for planning permission.
If you require a summerhouse with more internal space, say you want to use the summerhouse for a home gym then you will need to site it more than 2m from your boundary and then we can make you a summerhouse up to 3m with no planning required

Some Questions we get asked regularly
Do your summer houses come glazed
Yes all our timber summer houses come fully glazed with lightweight horticultural glass as standard, depending on the model and grade of that building the glass will either be fixed in by flexible silicon or beaded
The more expensive and Heavy Duty buildings have the option to upgrade at extra cost to either toughened or double glazing, dependent up on the type of doors and windows being used.
What are your doors made from
Once again depending on the grade of the building the doors are all joiner made. The budget summerhouse has 18 x 24inch fixed rectangular 3mm glass. The Mersey and Avon ranges have joiner made Georgian style doors and windows with standard glazing. We then also offer two other upgrades
Log Cabin grades doors and windows
UPVC doors and windows
Does the price include fitting / erecting
Yes is does in the Merseyside / Wirral and Southport areas Free or Charge
Outside this free delivery area we make a delivery charge, which is simply based upon the distance you are away from us. Now obviously common sense needs to be used in some cases as the cost of transport will be more than the value of the building, so you may well find some of the smaller, less expensive summer houses will be cheaper to buy more local to your self
However, the mid and deluxe range buildings are becoming much more popular, especially in the south of the UK were generally prices are more expensive and clients are finding our price much more competitive generally.
Does your Summer houses come with a veranda?
Yes and No! Some of the summerhouses include the veranda and will be shown is the picture on that page. If not then it will be an optional extra.
The standard optional veranda and roof over hang will be 3 ft and run across the width of the building
All the summerhouses have a 12-inch roof overhang as standard, but this for a small fee can be extended to suit your needs.
Some people have decking set out in front of the summer house so have no need for a veranda, yet may require just the roof to be extended to provide a little extra shelter from the weather.
We can make to suite and provide supporting post fitted directly to your decking then giving a more integrated look
Do your summer houses have a lock and key with doors
Yes, they do all have apart from the basic cheap summer house range it always boils down to money. To make a timber summerhouse cheaper certain things need to be cut back on and one of those are the door locks.
A 5 lever lock and handles not only cost more than a hasp and staple but also requires a lot more time fitting
What type of roof covering do you use
This will vary depending on the price and grade of the building
Roofing felt generally comes in different thicknesses and is measured by the KG Kilograms of tar it contains. The more tar the heavier and strong the felt covering will be
20 kg ,30 kg, 40kg and polyester torch on 50 plus kg felts are available. So obviously the cheaper prices building will have the basic lightest roofing felt. This can be up graded on any building so please enquire and we can individually quote for your size building.
Other Roof Coverings
Felt shingles, which are tile shaped felt based material, yet a lot lighter than a clay tile.
Rubber-based roof tiles. Basically a rubber-based product with tile shape, with popular trade name of “onduline”
Timber shingle tiles , wedge-shaped timbers the size of tiles that simply overlap each other for a more traditional old-world effect
Can i use my summerhouse as an office?
Yes and No? Why well the local planning law generally says if you intend to run a business from home you may need to apply for a change of use ! The problem is every man and his dog started buying sheds and summer houses and working from home the why would we need office e blocks?
The local council love taking money from us in any way possible and would love to charge you extra business rates on that building.
Well, let’s face it 99% of us would just get on with without saying anything.
